Review: Eylure Dybrow (Dylash) in Brown

To begin this review, let me tell you about my eyebrows, which are the worst. They are the holy trinity of awful - straight, light and sparse, and to add insult to injury they refuse to ever look evenly shaped, despite my best efforts. Providing them with continued artistic support has become the least enjoyable part of my make-up routine. They just suck.

Deep breath out, on with the review.

Eylure's Dybrow was recommended to me by a friend. I'd never tinted my eyebrows before, but I thought I'd give it a go. I'd do anything to cut down the time I spend wielding that blasted eyebrow pencil. I picked up a box in Superdrug for £7.49 (wincing a little bit at the price until I saw the "up to 12 applications" bit) and used it yesterday.

The box includes an applicator wand, activating solution and the cream colour (I used brown as I have dyed auburn hair). The actual process of applying the mixture is so simple and neat that I just sat on the sofa and did it. Make sure you have a towel, though... and preferably a black sofa. Mix, apply, wait, wipe off (face wipe will do). Ta da, tinted eyebrows. It's that easy.

The box says to leave it on for 7 minutes maximum, but overall I left the mixture on for 11 minutes (I did a test run with the first eyebrow in 2-3 minute increments to get them the colour I wanted). Obviously the time needed for other people may differ.

Below is my before and after (please note I am currently attempting to grow my eyebrows out a little bit, hence the baby bushiness):

eyelure dybrow brown review before and after

Woohoo, a difference! My eyebrows are a shade darker and I reckon they look fuller as a result (if you don't see it then... shhh, let me have this). The photo doesn't really do it justice - in normal light, you can barely see the tail end of my eyebrow, but now it's quite well defined for what it is! I didn't go into this expecting to come out looking like Brooke Shields, I just wanted my eyebrows to stand up for themselves without the aid of a pencil. I'm very happy and will definitely use Dybrow again in 6 weeks when it needs topping up.

Have you used Dybrow? What did you think? If not, would you give it a go?

  1. I use this too! My eyebrows are so gappy and light, I love this dye it makes them stand out so much more!
